Final draft for my school magazine content page.

This is my final draft for my content page for my school magazine 'Brupper'.
This is my final draft of my magazine, I think added the extra lines made a huge difference, as it made it look alot neater/organised and easier to read. I like the black background to my headings, because it makes it easier for the audience to find what there looking for or they can see what they are most interested and select what article they are most interested in.

Overall there are various things I particually like about my magazine. These being; the handwritten text which allow the idea that Mr Wilcock has in fact written the little note to the student which seems a lot more specific to that individual rather than it just being printed text which could have been written by anyone. I really like the column of pictures, as I really do like the idea of having a lot of pictures on the content page as it makes it a lot more readable. Specifically the  column of pictures however because I think the various colours really do draw your eye in and allows you to want to read on. I think the lines really separates the different articles as before it looked very jumbled and you didn't really know what number went with what article. This allows it to look a lot more organised for the reader. I really like the colour scheme, the idea of sticking to the school colours being gold, brown, and black really represents the school and people will automatically know what magazine it is, and who we as a school are proud of. The way the colour scheme is used, the headers are used with a black and white and then the titles are brown to allow them to stand out and following that the subtitles being black to separate them. Lastly I used rhetorical questions for a reason, as it leaves the reader to think and leaves some suspense to want them to read onto the article. I think this was a good idea to bring them into the magazine and want to actually read it but also to think, as it is a school magazine they are subconsciously still thinking hard.

Second draft for my school magazine content page.

This is my second draft for my school magazine 'Brupper'.
I haven't made a drastic change with my magazine, I added a gold bolder around the pictures to draw the readers attention in. And I did try some of the same gold in the text, however it look way to busy. Therefore I liked it like this. I didn't really know what else to add. However I have recently just researched magazine content pages and have see that I can add a bit of a bold background toward the heading, and putting in lines to show the separation of the text, therefore in my final draft I am going to try this.

First draft for my school magazine content page.

I do like my first draft of my content page. I would like to make some adjustment to it though, maybe using a border round pictures to make it stand out. And changed the colours around abit, for example I may add a yellow/gold to some of the texts and use it as a border because it will make certain things stand out a lot more, and it will also fit in to the school colours.

This is my final draft of my school magazine cover...
This is my final draft, I did what I said I would do and I simply rearranged the main picture because I thought the picture of Natasha Baker's picture looked a lot better on the right because of the angle of the picture was taken. I also cut the background the out from the picture of the Natasha. Also I think it creates more of a focus for the audience to see that she has one a gold medal and that she is represented us as a country. I think it really improved my magazine because now it doesn't look like everything is in blocks.

This is my second draft for my school magazine cover...
Here I have used Photoshop to blur and smudge in the picture of the house point table and the picture of Natasha Barker. I thought this would make my magazine look a lot more like a magazine because rather that the picture being purely just block pictures and really blunt looking, I have made it all blend into one. However I don't really like the background to the picture of Natasha Barker and would like to get rid of it. I also made the bottom of the picture gradient as I wanted the table to blend in at the bottom and for it all to just merge and I really like that effect.

This is my first draft of my School Magazine cover...
This is my idea that i would like to take and improve for my school magazine. I used the photo of the school main hall, and I edited it on Photoshop and then stretched it out to my main background picture. I used this specific picture purely because an interview in the article would be similar to her coming into school and explaining her story, and this is where it would be held. I wanted to tie it all in at once. I used black, white and red as my main colours because I wanted it to look more of a classy magazine, however I didn't want it to be boring and just black and white because it wouldn't draw the audiences attention. So I started white fancy looking writing to show the classiness of the magazine, and then used white so it stood out, and didn't show any negativity, using connotation as white representing the pureness of the school and how it is good and heavenly, just showing that the school is a good school. I then used red for the important parts that I wanted the audience to look at, I used it to show what i thought the audience would want to see. I.e. showing who was in the paper, who is famous within Hillingdon, as she attended Bishop Ramsey. I also added the recent house point scores because I know that would be a key thing to draw students eyes to the magazine. However at the moment the it all look like it is in blocks and doesn't look very much like a magazine cover, because the pictures are blending in or cropped or anything, they look like they have just been placed there and it makes it look messy. That then contradicts what I wanted my magazine to look like which was classy. I would like to blend the pictures in and maybe replace them to make them look a bit more organised.

Pictures I have taken round school for my magazine cover and content page.

I have chosen to do the key parts of my school, for example 'The Hub', the atrium, the music corridor, the hall, and also only one classroom. I only used one classroom as they are all pretty much the same layout and look, they all look the same. I included picture of people art, because I want to include competition winners of an art competition to emphasize the competition at school and so that there is a little sneak peak of who is winning what. I have taken the pictures in these specific angles because I really wanted to make the rooms look as big as possible and in a sort of unusual way to make the pictures stand out and not be as boring. I also took a picture of the a board we have up which includes the London Olympics 2012. This is because it has been the talk worldwide for the whole year and I knew it is a huge interest at the moment. Also as we have some one who used to go to Bishop Ramsey School actually taking part in the paralympics, I thought it would be a great opportunity to use this as my main article because it is such a huge interest at the moment not only in the UK but world wide, which really reflects how much of an interest it is.

A college of picture I would like to use in my School magazine

This is my school magazine collage, I have gathered all these pictures together to get ideas on what I would like on my front over and content page and also I can then get the idea for what I want to take pictures of. I can then look at these school pictures and then take my own at my own angles. Also it gave me idea what part of the school I wanted to focuse on. I really want to include the school's table of house points because everyone is really interested in the house points and constantly wants to be updated on. I like the idea of having the logo of the school page.
